Vancouver's punk-inspired Johnny Cash group @johnny__trash
Hearing the Johnny Cash songs I grew up listening being flipped on their head and
set ablaze with punk influences was truly an enlightening experience.
Not only do they have the best cover band name I've ever heard, but what makes them stand out is
they are not derivative. So many cover bands will just repeat the formula without attempting to try anything new, but Johnny Trash truly add their own flair to some of Johnny Cashes classics,
to the point i really wouldn't ever consider them a cover band.
From the throbbing bass lines with a turn-up tempo to the vocalist's more aggressive raw belting style, and
lead guitarist who absolutely shreds. They mold Cash's songs to where they don't just draw over Johnny Cash's style trying to replicate it, but use it as a foundation to help build something new.
I was blown away & look forward to seeing them again.
